Virtue Reflection

Each of the books that we’ll read has its own take on what virtues are important. Over the course of our reading and discussion, choose one virtue you see upheld in the text and find a way to practice it in your daily life. You may find that as you do this, your understanding of the literary text deepens.

Three times this semester you will turn in a brief, one-page (300 word) reflection that identifies the virtue you chose, indicates how it’s described in the literary text, describes how you practiced it (this is crucial! You have to actually do something that builds this virtue), and concludes with what you learned from this about both the virtue and the literary text. You can view sample virtue reflections here.
